Recipe: Tillery Chili // Pair: Grandunkel dunkelweizen

  • 1 pound ground sirloin

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1 sixteen ounce jar of salsa

  • 1 can of dark red kidney beans

  • 1 can of pinto beans

  • 8 ounce can of tomato sauce

  • 1 tsp each of garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano

  • 2 tsp each of cumin powder and paprika

  • 1/4 tsp each of cayenne pepper and black pepper

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  1. In a large pot, begin cooking the ground sirloin and the chopped onion. Mix in the garlic powder, the onion powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, cayenne, and black pepper.

  2. After the sirloin has browned, add to the pot the cans of beans (don’t drain them), the jar of salsa, the can of tomato sauce, the brown sugar, and the chili powder.

  3. Bring the chili to a soft boil. Lower the heat and simmer until ready to serve.

Note: The spiciness of the chili can be adjusted by the spiciness of the salsa!
